Building a Community of Diverse Individuals Is Essential for Our Future:
- This is a place where thoughtful individuals can share ideas and build common cause, regardless of political affiliation.
- We want to develop shared values that are bigger than any single party.
- We will not be divided. Groups and nations are conquered by pitting people against each other – we will stand as a group.
Defending the Rule of Law Is Necessary:
- When the law does not matter, nobody is safe.
- When legal precedents and norms are ignored, nobody is safe.
Being Politically Active & Engaged Is Vital:
- Do not be intimidated.
- Yes, it’s overwhelming, please stay engaged anyway.
- Identify congressional districts across the nation that are purple where Democrats can win & go get involved.
- Contact elected representatives across the nation & tell them how you feel. You do not need to live within the district – call the Capital switchboard (202) 224-2131.
Defending the Free Press Is To Fundamental Democracy
- Financially support non-profit news organizations (e.g. AP & Guardian) if possible.
- People in power must be made to answer questions & explain their rationale for policy & action
- An informed citizenry is necessary for democracy to survive
Defending Democracy Is Our Responsibility
- Hold Congress accountable
- Hold the President accountable
- Be accountable to each other
- Do not normalize bad behavior

WHERE WE ARE TODAY:

It is a sad comment that scientists, scholars, historians, economists, & journalists who have devoted their lives to research and helping us better understand our world are being questioned and disbelieved, while a reality TV star with decades of known fraud & exhaustively documented lying is viewed as truthful and caring.
